Born and raised in South Africa, Patricia's early life in Africa was an ecclectic mix of cultures. Born into a family whose orgins were European (Hungian/Italian/Irish) she was introduced to the fine arts at a very early age. Her father, a highly decorated WW2 British naval officer, settled in central Africa (post war) and become invovled in game management and nature conservation.

A little girl with her family in the middle of the African bush, she was as familar with the sounds of roaring lions and hyenas at night as she was with opera and classical music.
